"Pleasant"ville

*Kriss Lehmann reviews her past posts*

Ahhhhhh, Pleasantville. When I finally took over the group and land of 'Tashi, I played around for a while with a few different ideas. First came the cute little stream, rocks, trees that would compliment the very modern, white plaster, natural wood and glass of my gallery. As things were slowing down after my gallery opening, I began to travel around, sightseeing SL, and revisiting some of the locations that I had been for photo shoots. One place that really stood out was Dark City, the first one... I had used the location for a couple different pictures:

I immediately fell in love with the city, and before too long, I was drawn in by the siren call of dirty brick, rusted metal and broken glass...

First to go was the gallery. In it's place loomed a broken, hollowed husk of an old metals foundry, a heavy crucible having fallen to its new home in the basement (now flooded with sewage runnoff, taking parts of several floors with it. The pictures from the old (yet newer) gallery were rehung on chainlink fence, or propped against shipping crates.

Cracked asphalt began spreading from the foundry/gallery, its broken surface giving a chance to the occasional grass or dirt mound.

Around this time, I was hanging out a lot with Jezebelle and her boi-toy, Ashe. They were renting a plot on a privately owned sim, but the owners kept increasing regulations... first on where they could build (Jez was also very much into the urban decay look, and was forced to put her home in the sky above cloud level), and then how many people they could have visiting at a time. That's no way to enjoy SL, so I quickly invited Jez and Ashe to come and live on my land. Jez brought a new life to the build and (until I completely waived it) a little rent money.

With Jez around, the city began to form in earnest, and every day new features were added, tweaked, removed, remade. I ironically referred to the area as Pleasantville, and the name stuck. I think the build started sometime in February, and almost 3 months later, has only just now started to slow, as prims are slowly running out. I'm trying to give us enough room so that we can continue our first passion (building) in the relative peace that Pleasantville provides, but our ideas still far outweigh my current prim limit, and I'm now trying to raise money for a Sim. If you find yourself in the area of Solbim (southern continent), please stop by and visit Pleasantville. If you like what we are doing, please help us out by donating to the tip cup near the kitty at the TP point.
